When are the Tournaments?
Tournaments will be posted on our site when available.
Do you have to play in all events?
No. All events are individual tournaments. You can sign up for the tournaments you would like to play in. At the Tournament options chart you will find a contact for every event. Every organization has their own protocol with individualized instructions to follow
Do I need to be an USAV and/or AAU member to play?
Yes. All our participants need to be USAV members. If you played indoor club volleyball this season, you should already be a member. If you did not play indoor, you can get a membership for just the summer. To register, go to greatlakesvolleyball.org and follow the steps. Be sure to select the Outdoor Junior Membership and print your membership card to bring to the event. An AAU membership is only needed for AAU events and you can purchase it when you register for the event.
Please note: This membership will not be available until May 1, 2025
What is the playing format?
Typically pool play starts between 8 and 9am. Playoffs begin around 1 pm and are completed by 4 pm. Check every event website for details.
Will playing schedules be posted?
Schedules are typically posted before the event starts or after the check in. You can find out what court you play on and the time. Check every event website for details.
Are there officials for the tournaments?
No. Sand volleyball is self-officiated. The players work to agree with their opponents on calls or to replay the rally. The organizers have staff on hand to help with the rules for outdoor volleyball.
Can parents help with the officiating?
No. Parents cannot be near the courts. The players learn to officiate and make decisions with their opponents. So parents, sit back and enjoy!
